A3PCON members,
Joel Jacinto and SIPA have been leading advocates and practioners of using arts and culture for youth and community engagement. Recently, budget cuts have cut deeply into arts funding. Joel brought up the idea of an A3PCON arts and culture workgroup at a previous meeting and has now initiated a first meeting for interested persons and groups.

I would like to invite all interested A3PCON organizations
and/or individuals who would like to discuss the presence of culture
and arts programs within our organizations/communities, what are the
most pressing needs regarding these types of programs and finding out
about potential resources that may fund our
projects/programs/services.
I would also like to invite Danielle Brazell, Executive Director of
Arts for LA, a city-wide advocacy group focused on the arts. Danielle
would be able to share ways that our APPPCON organizations could
participate in the broader arts advocacy efforts, and she is much
intent on learning about the issues we face as social service
providers.
