The Diverse Face of Asian and Pacific Islanders in California

A new report on the socio-economic diversity within Southern California's Asian and Pacific Islander community was produced by the Asian Pacific American Legal Center in cooperation with United Way of Greater Los Angeles and is now available for download. The report is intended as a tool to assist grant writers, program planners, advocates, business people, and elected officials in better describing and understanding this growing population and its needs.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a website addressing the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in various languages. Please go to www.cdc.gov/ncidod/sars/ and then click on one of the available languages in the upper right hand corner. Information includes frequently asked questions, what everyone should know about SARS, information for the workplace, and latest SARS updates.



APA Community Researcher Database

This is a database of Asian Pacific American community researchers developed for the APA Community Research Rountable (APACRR). It lists academic researchers in the areas like ethnic studies, race relations, gender studies, minority health care, Asian American literature and history, and others.


Asian Pacific Islander Healthline

This website is designed to assist health and social service providers in finding health care providers in Los Angeles County and health education documents for Asian and Pacific Islander (API) clients. A demonstration project by Asian Pacific Health Care Venture and Little Tokyo Service Center.



Asian Pacific American Community Directory

During the 2001-2002 academic year, the USC Asian Pacific American Student Services embarked on survey project of APA organizations in the Southern California region. This survey asked organizations detailed information on the types of services provided and which populations they served. Of the nearly 500 local organizations surveyed, APASS garnered 240 responses for an outstanding return rate of 48 percent. The results of this survey can be accessed by searching by service area. This data is available only on organizations in Southern California (with zip codes from 89999-93000, or about San Diego to Thousand Oaks) who responded to the survey.
